Rachael Robbins - Behind the Scenes with Mike James

At my request, my friend, esteemed pinup photographer Mike James, once again delved into his photo archives to come up with some candid, behind-the-scenes shots of another one of the lovely ladies who's worked with him over the last several years.

Rachael Robbins, who was included in my first James Girls feature and a subsequent solo interview, has compiled a long and impressive modeling and acting resume that includes Playboy magazine to, more recently, her outstanding performance as the leader of the Van Houten sisters in Ken Del Vecchio's horror Bleeding Hearts. The above 2007 shot of Rachael relaxing while Mike was setting up for a shoot, as well as all of the following photos, are being published here for the first time, anywhere.

Tina Krause - Behind the Scenes with Mike James

Actress Tina Krause was featured in my second installment on the models of prominent pinup photographer Mike James. She first shot with Mike in 1997 and has done shoots with him almost every year since. She's appeared with Mike at trade shows and events as the official spokesmodel for Azimuth Design, as well as appeared in print ads for the company. In essence, James Girl Tina is to Azimuth Designs, what Hooters Girl Lynne Austin was to Hooters restaurants.

Friday the 13th Victim, Judy

Throughout the Friday the 13th franchise (except for the first one, of course, since it was mom doing the killing in that one), Jason Voorhees has always been an innovative and resourceful murderer. A prime example of that is this scene from Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood, in which Jason uses the sleeping bag that Judy seemed to think would keep her safe from him if she just tucked her head inside of, as a tool to pummel her against a tree. A little more can be learned about Judy at the Friday the 13th Wikia.

Suicide Girls Blackheart Burlesque

The Suicide Girls' 2016 Blackheart Burlesque tour was slated for a performance at O'Brians Event Centre on Sunday May 1 in Saskatoon, Canada, but because of an "absurd adult services bylaw" in the city of Saskatoon , the show was cancelled. (Article here) However, the tour's next stop was the Garrick Centre in Winnipeg, where the ladies performed last night (as this goes to press), to a sold out house.

There has never been a Suicide Girl, past, current, or former, who has been featured here but we'll make efforts to end that spell in the near future. The Suicide Girls Blackheart Burlesque tour will continue throughout the rest of this year. Check the schedule at their official website to see when they'll be in your city.

Samantha Christianson Does Pinhead

In the above video, Winnipeg-based makeup artist Samantha Christianson demonstrates her remarkable skills as she transforms herself into a horrific-yet-sexy female version of the iconic Pinhead from the Hellraiser film franchise. This is also Sam's official entry into the 2016 NYX FACE Awards (Like and comment on this video at her Youtube channel).

After all the submissions are reviewed, the top 30 finalists will be announced on May 2. NYX will reveal the first challenge for those top 30 on May 6. From May 20-27, fans will then get to vote for their favorite and the top 20 vote-getters will go on to the next phase of the competition. See the NYX FACE Awards official site for the full details and it goes without saying that Sam will be getting Idol Features' votes and endorsement, all along the way to August 20, when the field will be narrowed to six and a live vote will be held determine the overall winner.

Krista Grotte Guests on Eye on Entertainment

Gracing the above promo poster for the upcoming action-thriller Nation's Fire is the multi-talented Krista Grotte, who was my recent guest on Eye on Entertainment. See the full press release.

Heroines and Bad Girls Deep Inside the Pirate Office

As a creator, I get to draw inspiration from all over the place, and that all comes together for me here in my very own "Pirate Office." It's a place where I do all my digital artwork, great pinups for Geo's Vixens, and my salute to pinups. It's where I recently created the first book for The Angel Codex; Midnight Angel: Afterfall, and it's where I work on writings for Idol Features as well, like now.

All of this comes together in one spot: The Pirate Office. It's here that I'll now be focusing on as a feature for my Youtube channel, where the first episode is now up. I'll take all those who want to see what inspires some great art and a lot of madness. It's that source of energy that really takes me anywhere I want to go, in terms of my art. I'll be honest; usually, it's a very sexy place I end up going. Creating pinups for a living has really made my world complete, and many of the statues in the Pirate Office will be highlighted. I'll also be telling everyone what I like, or sometimes dislike, about various items that dwell deep within the Pirate Office's hollowed walls. It's a who's who of sexy horror and amazing comic book heroines and bad girls. Why is that? Because more than anything, I'm inspired by strong empowered and yes, sexy, creations.

Debra Lamb - Ruby Dreams

This 1994 music video featuring Scream Queen Debra Lamb, is a rare gem that recently surfaced on Youtube. It was produced and directed by then-USC film school student Susan Lambert. The song the video is set to is "Ruby, " performed by Marti Jones off of her Used Guitars album. It was written by Janis Ian and Kye Fleming and originally released on Janis' Revenge album. As for the story behind this video, just read on.

Kate Bennet, the Vampirette of Everdance

The First Empowered Super Horror Heroine

The Character of Kate Bennet was the main protagonist of my first book Everdance: A Blood Story. The creation of such a character came from the simple concept of a character who doesn't know her true strengths, and its not until she's driven to really fend for herself, that she learns who she really is.

The Tale of Lilith

Lilith's Evolution has been a fun ride to say the least. But then again ...

I've always loved horror and fantasy, it's my passion. I've created a superhero/horror screenplay based on my graphic novel Everdance: A Blood Story. This is the story of a fledgling vampire named Kate who has never lived as a vampire, feeding only off of her husband and sire, Andre, but Kate runs into a very serious problem when Andre never returns home from feeding one night. Now Kate must learn to survive on her own. This is where our story began ....and my career as a graphic novelist.

2015 Christmas Compilation

As has now become an annual tradition at Idol Features, here are some ladies who we've interviewed and featured throughout the last couple of years and were gracious enough to send us photos of themselves dressed in the spirit of the occasion. Above is horror hostess Lilith Death (played by the lovely Jessica Felice, who will be seen further on in this article) in a still from the Tales of Horror Christmas Eve Special. Catch it Thursday, December 24th at 8:00 PM Eastern on Tales of Horror TV, exclusively at Vimeo on Demand. Merry Christmas!

Cherry Bomb: From T&A to TNT!

I'm Geo Brawn, and I'm a screenwriter, a painter, a voice actor, and a graphic novelist. That last part is what I'm here to talk about. The creations of a single sexy character that created an entire universe for me.
Original Cherry Bomb drawing

See, once upon a time, I worked as a phone rep supervisor for a now defunct cable company, and there was this one friend of mine there who was having a particularly bad day ... and all I could do to help was draw her as this sexy goth-looking super hottie, I saw her as ...(the image at right)

Well, it did the trick and changed her day, but what I didn't know at the time is that this little goth vampire hottie with long pig-tails and a snarky attitude, was going to change my life. As I said, that company was going out of business and after eight years I was looking at the certainly of unemployment. But it made me start creating her more and more, and then thinking about the world she would live in... and so I did, I started creating other characters and creatures galore. And then stories. I needed stories and adventures for this sexy lil creation to go on.

And so the idea for my first venture into comic books, "Blood Rites" came to be. But, this story wold be put on the back burner until the first book of this series could make it's way and it was a much better start to the series that would come to be known as "The Untold Chronicles."

Tales of Horror with Lilith Death

Lilith Death (played by actress Jessica Felice) isn't your typical, campy horror film hostess, if you consider Elvira as such. Lilith delivers a more subtle humor and has been described as a flirty dominatrix-style vixen, who adds levity and nostalgia to the show. As the above teaser from Episode 3 of Harvest Moon Motion Pictures' Tales of Horror reveals, Lilith's alluring manner, enhanced by a sultry British accent, provide an eerily provocative segue to the films featured on the show.

Whatever Happened to Ryu Mi-oh?

The name Ryu Mi-oh won't mean anything to those unfamiliar with Korean nude models who were popular from the mid-90s to early 2000s, but those who know who she is/was (a group that will mainly consist of expats in Korea during that time) will surly appreciate this article.

Ryu Mi-oh was one of the ladies featured here in this 2010 piece on the most notable names ever in Korean adult entertainment. She started her career in front of the camera as a nude model. Her voluptuous image not only graced magazines, she was also featured on such things as advertisement posters and nightclub flyers. She first appeared on the scene in the mid-90s, when the Internet was in its formative years. Even so, it's surprising there's so little information about her online (and I say this after searching Korean sites for her), seeing that she was arguably the most popular nude model in Korea when the Internet became commonplace a few years later.

Friday the 13th Victim, Bree

In all of the entries in the original Friday the 13th franchise, Jason Voorhees usually made very quick work of his victims, slaying most without them even knowing what, much less who, hit them. However, in this scene from 2009 remake of Friday the 13th, Jason takes a moment to savior Bree's fear before impaling her on a pair of antlers.

As for Julianna Guillm, the actress playing Bree in the above scene, she's been busy for over a decade, as her IMDb will show. Despite her extensive acting resume, she'll probably go down in history (among horror fans, anyway) as having the most memorable mammaries in any Friday the 13th film.

Debra Lamb as Ms. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

Scream Queen Debra Lamb's talents have been featured on these pages before, but this recently surfaced video of Debra performing at the West Hollywood nightclub Peanuts in 1992 is a gem that many fans have not yet had the pleasure of viewing.

Ladies of The Coed and the Zombie Stoner

These days, if a filmmaker throws the word "zombie" in a movie title with anything that implies there's going to be some gratuitous T&A, the film's going to get some serious attention from horror fans and pundits. Set it at a summer camp, womens prison, or an institute of higher learning, as we have here, and all the better. Such is the case with last year's comedy-horror, The Coed and the Zombie Stoner. The film's been panned by most reviewers all over the net (including yours truly), but certainly not overlooked. In fact, it may become a cult favorite in the years to come. The film's tagline; "sex, drugs and the walking dead," simply states the content of this gem.

Pictured above is star Catherine Annette, who plays hot lab nerd Chrissie, whose sexiness seems to be well-concealed by her eyeglasses. As so colorfully explained to her by her foul-mouthed sorority president, Chrissie has to snag a frat boyfriend or else she'll get kicked out of her sorority. Although Miss Annette plays a "straight" role, she isn't exempt from popping her top in a brief scene. She also appeared last year in famed B-movie director Fred Olen Ray's After Midnight. She'll be in Josh Eisenstadt's upcoming Spreading Darkness and is "rumored" to be in the slated-for-2017 Vampire Schoolgirls. Click on on either one of Catherine's breasts to play the full trailer for The Coed and the Zombie Stoner.

Alle Connell as Cady's "Ex-Wife" from Mean Girls

It's National Mean Girls day and the Halloween season, so to cover both those occasions with one piece; above is makeup and fashion blogger Alle Connell as Cady Heron's "Ex-Wife" from the Halloween party scene from the cult film Mean Girls. You can see Alle's full tutorial on how to create this look and the outfit at her article at xoVain, where she's the senior contributing editor. You can see much more from Alle at her personal blog and, to save you the trouble of searching, see the Halloween scene with Cady and company after the jump.

Playboy Playmate Screen Deaths

Few former Playboy Playmates have gone on to have acting careers successful enough to land them starring roles in theatrical release movies. Perhaps it's because being a Playmate has sort of a stigma attached that the girls would have to shake before even being considered for a prominent role in a major film. However, being a former Playmate does have its advantages when it comes to B-Movies and being cast for titillation scenes in larger-budget features.

An excellent case in point is the opening scene of Brian DePalma's 1981 thriller, Blow Out, with Miss April 1979 Missy Cleveland (credited in the film as Amanda Cleveland) as a girl with a terrible scream getting killed in a shower scene in a slasher movie within a slasher movie. Missy herself tragically died August 14, 2001 at the age of 41 from an adverse reaction to prescription medication. Read on to see the aforementioned scene and some other former Playmates being murdered on celluloid.

Whatever Happened to the Texas Cowgirls, Inc.?

The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are arguably the most famous cheerleading squad in the NFL and have been since the early 1970s. They debuted in 1960 as a co-ed squad called the "CowBelles & Beaux," and by the late 60s, the Cowboys' then-general manager decided an image makeover for their cheerleaders was needed to boost game attendance. The male cheerleaders were dropped in 1969 and in 1970, the outfits were redesigned. Two years later, another outfit modification was made and that design is pretty much what is worn by the ladies today, save for a few minor alterations over the years.

Besides cheering on the Cowboys on game days, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders make personal appearances at shows and events all over the world. Yours truly has caught some of their abbreviated touring squads during their USO tours of military bases in South Korea and Japan. I could go on at length about the DCC, but this article isn't about them. This is about the Texas Cowgirls, Inc., a long-defunct Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders' faction formed by ex-Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Tina Jimenez, that first gained (in)famy in the late 1970s. Above is the (in)famous shot for their poster, that ran in the December 1978 issue of Playboy magazine.
