Judy Cerda

Even though not all of her movies have been in the horror genre, actress Judy Cerda could be considered a "Scream Queen." Her list of acting credits include Spyware, California Tango, Priest's Calling (as Gwen, a club girl with an attitude), and a Doritos commercial where she's chased by a zombie. Speaking of which; the above clip is from the 2004 film Tele-Zombie (one that has given Judy the Scream Queen tag), which also features a true Scream Queen legend; Brinke Stevens.

Judy's been on my Facebook and Myspace friends lists for the past few years and, as I saw that her list of acting credits has kept growing during that time, I decided it was time I contacted her about an interview, which she graciously agreed to.

Debra Lamb

I first caught actress Debra Lamb on video in a little-known gem entitled The Stripping Telegram: Special Delivery, which was shot in Hollywood in the mid-80s. In it, she played a pizza delivery girl who forgot the pizza but more than made up for it with a sizzling routine that showed she had formal dance training. Her exotic looks were familiar to me and I was sure I'd seen her somewhere before, so I did a little digging and found her featured in the June 1987 issue of Easyriders magazine I had in my collection.

Wanting to learn more about such a striking girl, starting with her last name, I checked magazines stands, book and video stores (these were the pre-Internet days) and found her featured in a now-defunct publication entitled Focus, which included her bio and list of acting credits. That was in 1994 and she has since been among my favorite B-movie actresses. The above photo of her as "Jessica" from the 1989 B-classic Beverly Hills Vamp should save me from having to explain why.

The Ladies of Space Battleship Yamato

As requested by a reader at another site I contribute to, here are the female cast members of the 2010 Japanese sci-fi film, Space Battleship Yamato, which could be considered a more action-packed Japanese version of American space sci-fi films like Star Trek or Battlestar Galactica. (The latter I've sat through only because Grace Park was in the cast.)

Since this movie was spawned by the TV anime series that debuted in 1974, I decided to do a little research on the series first. When I did, I discovered there was only one notable female character in it, so I thought this would wind up as a feature on just the actress in the role of "Black Tiger Team" member, Yuki Mori (Meisa Kuroki, above). However, I was pleased to find out that the most notable departure the film took from the TV series was that two male key characters in the series, are female in the movie.

Friday the 13th Victim, Jenna

Just when it looked like Jenna (played by Danielle Panabaker ) was going to get away from Jason toward the end of the 2009 Friday the 13th remake, she gets skewed and added to his list of kills. As for Danielle, her IMDb page shows that this was hardly her first role, and that she's done plenty since.

Jackie Fox on The Dating Game

Jackie Fox wasn't the original bassist, but she was definitely the best-known bassist for the 70s all-girl band the Runaways, whose more notable alumnae are Joan Jett and Lita Ford. Along with Cherie Currie and Sandy West, the quintet that included Jackie, is considered by many fans to be the classic Runaways' line up. After Jackie left the band in 1977, near the end of their Japan tour, she faded away from the spotlight. However, she did make this one-time appearance on the Dating Game in 1980. When asked about this in a 1998 interview, she was quoted as saying:
My roommate at the time worked for Chuck Barris productions and was responsible for getting potential contestants in to audition. She had a quota and one week when she hadn't met it begged me just to show up. So I went and, since I wasn't taking it seriously, just mouthed off when I got there. Which, of course, they loved. So I went on out of curiosity. The best part about it was that Pee Wee Herman was on the game after me!! It was one of Paul Reuben's earliest appearances as Pee Wee and he was hilarious. I don't have a tape of that appearance. If anyone out there has one, I'd love a copy.
I've posted the video in its entirety (from Jackie's introduction to her parting), so the bachelors' inane presences and replies to Jackie's questions are unfortunately included. To see what Jackie's been up to since, just check out her Wikipedia entry. (Video credit: CherieO at Youtube)

Aby Rulloda

Abigaile (Aby) Rulloda (pronounced like her Facebook user name; "Rule Yoda") is hard to place in an single category, which is why I entered her under several here. She's a successful model, go-go dancer, ring girl, fashion designer, and competitive kickboxer who happens to be the current WCSC (World Combat Sports Challenge) Super Flyweight Champion.

Wanting to learn a little more about Aby firsthand, I contacted her through her website about an interview and, needless to say, was very pleased that she took time out of her busy schedule to answer my questions. Well, all except for how she got her nickname of "Bad" Aby.

Robin and Leslie for Hanes

Ever hear the expression "don't get your panties in a bunch"? Well, apparently that's what happened to Robin (actress and musician Gwendoline Yeo) during this recent segment of the fictional talk show What's Up? with Robin and Leslie. Oh, "Leslie" is Arden Myrin, best known for her stint on Mad TV.
